Introduction
Electronics and Communication is one of the fastest growing field of engineering courses. To understand better, "Electronics" is the branch of physics and technology that deals with the designing of circuits using transistors and microchips. It is also concerned with the movement of electrons in a semiconductor, conductor, vacuum and gas. On the other hand, "Communication" refers to the transfer of information or data from one device to another via a suitable communication path or channel which could be wired or wireless. Electronics and communication engineering also covers various sub-fields such as: analog electronics, digital electronics, consumer electronics, embedded systems, communication systems, signal and systems, antenna, radar and navigational aids and many more.
Recent trends or developments in electronics and communication field includes IOT (Internet of Things), AI (Artificial Intelligence), Mechatronics, Drone deliveries, Big Data, Rise of level-3 Automated vehicles, Spintronics, Smart cameras in embedded systems etc. All these developments involves specialization and the personals are required to possess a set of skills involving: innovation, problem-solving, critical thinking, aptitude for mathematics and a strong interest in the latest technologies.
In today's world, we all are surrounded with electronic gadgets. Almost our life has become dependent on these gadgets. So, from where does these gadgets are coming into the market and then to you? The answer is simple these gadgets are being designed by electronics and communication engineers. So the basic work of an electronics and communication engineer is:
- Designing of the electronic gadgets such as: mobile phones, cameras, televisions etc.
- Designing of the transistors and microchips.
- Designing of the various communication facilities example 5G.
- Designing of the latest communication systems.
Eligibility Criteria
The basic eligibility criteria to pursue electronics and communication engineering is as follows:
1. Undergraduate (UG): Candidates must have qualified 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their main subjects. Besides this, students must also have an aggregate marks of 60% in the above mentioned subjects combined.
2. Postgarduate (PG): Candidates must have passed their B.Tech degree in the same specialization with a passing percentage in the aggregate of the subjects studied at the degree level.
